Anna Bielska certainly possesses a beauty that feels diabolical, magical - maybe she actually is a supernatural being, a maenad, an immortal, and this film is proof that she was alive, looking young and beautiful, over a hundred years ago... Maybe.
Or maybe it's just that vigorous hair-brushing is the key to an unnaturally long life and eternal youth.
